Home Education Group
Our home education group runs on a Monday afternoons, term time only, 12.30pm - 2.30pm in our beautiful woodland in Hortham just outside Almondsbury.
After consultation with the home education community of Bristol and South Gloucestershire we have created a home education community that is inclusive to all. We recognise that each family is different and parents may want to stay with their child or may not. We ask that you stay with your child for the first session and after consultation with staff your child is welcome to attend without adult support.
Each session starts with a group walk into the woodland observing changes and points of interest in hedgerow and farmland, on arrival at base camp we share our three rules and introduction to the session. Each introduction will build upon observations of the groups learning from the previous week. We will learn about our changing natural environment and an activity related to this subject will be offered. Children can choose to complete this activity or choose to free play using resources and the environment on offer before working together to create a fire and cook a snack to share. Children will have time to re-visit activities before we share our learning of the session and walk together back to the car park.
Each session costs £12 included in this cost is snack, resource materials, insurance and experienced and qualified staff.
